Most consultants will work for you — they'll polish your essays, pick your schools, and hand you a tidy package. I'd rather work with you. Your applications should sound like you, your choices should be ones you can defend, and your story should be one you actually own.
Don’t let someone else’s idea of “realistic” define your ceiling. I’ve seen too many students shrink their ambitions before they even apply. I didn’t. I applied anyway. I got in anyway. If you want to aim for the top — do it. My job isn’t to talk you down. It’s to help you show up with an application that’s impossible to ignore.
